Wnnie in bottle

Hello again my dear crafty peeps I hope you’re well whatever the weather is doing your way What a summer we’re having this year (or should I say lack of L )
Anyways to brighten things u we have another challenge for you over at Polkadoodles this week and although our theme for you guys is always Anything Goes for us DT girls we had to create a summer theme!
So for my project I haven’t made a card this time (I know shock horror you did read right) I have created Winnie in bottle!

I have seen a couple of crafters do something similar makes but with different themes one was a ship in a bottle which was amazing so ladies thank you for the inspiration!
So how did I make this well I was all set to make a card then I paid a visit to the Works (as you do!!) and I saw these bottle with chipboard letters in the the size of the bottle looked perfect for this idea so I popped a couple (or 3 or 4) into my basket lol

I printed off Winnie from Starfish and Sandcastle collection along with some of the embellishments  (the flip flops sandcastle rubber ring and anchor) and one of the sentiments, printing them all off twice but in mirror image. I them cut them all out and glued together leaving to dry.
For the Winnie image I made sure to leave a tab about ½ and inch at the bottom so I could fold it outwards on both side and glue it to the bottom of the bottle to make it more secure.  Then while drying I found some sand paper that I tore to fit and glued that in place.
I attached the rubber ring, flip flops, sandcastle and sentiment to the outside of the bottle  then I wanted something to give the look of water so I raided my fabric stash for some tulle and coloured it blue with some distress ink  I then cut into smallish strips.

Once most f it was dry I took Winnie and got her inside the bottle being very careful not to behead her (as I did in my previous attempt ooopppsssss) then I added the tulle gluing it in place as I went along.
To finish off I added some real mini shells to the outside and inside and then added some micro beads and gold glitter to the inside to look a bit more sand like.

The lid of the bottle was silver in colour and I wanted it to be a more gold/brown and weathered so a coat of gesso and then some brown acrylic paint and some Tim Holtz distressed spray stain in tarnished brass  blasted with the heat gun did the trick. I then added some twine and fibres to the lid which I glued in place then added more shells
Well I hope you like it I certainly enjoyed making it and I will see you very soon

Anything Christmas Goes

Happy Friday folks hope you’re having a great week I am still in holiday mode at the moment and struggling to get back into things. Still have to try.
Anyhoooooo I have a card for you today as it’s inspiration week this week over at plkadoodles for our ATG challenge us DT girls were asked to make anything Christmas so this is officially my very first Christmas card for 12017  will be making very soon as I don’t want to leave it till last minute like usual lol

Anyway a really easy card I used embellishments from the Nordic pic n mix 3 and took 3 of the baubles and made a simple 5½ x5½ card  I also added one of the sentiments from the set. Then I printed the baubles out again onto some extra card and cut out then glittered and added 3D tape and added to card.

To finish off I added some small gems and a bow to the baubles then using a Sakura glitter pen I traced the sentiment to add some more sparkle.
Hope you like it and I will see you next week with another DT card for Polkadoodes so stay tuned

Happy Birthday Dear Husband

Hello lovely people, another of Phil’s birthday cards to share with you again today this one is one I made from myself. Again I have used a Mo Manning image called Breezy.
The card is another 8x8” and the papers are from pixel scrapper which I have distressed and inked the edges.

I printed the image along with the sentiment it was on the line s of the Marilyn Monroe theme “Happy Birthday Mr President” as that’s what this image puts me in mind of, so anyway I printed them both off together then coloured the image with a mix of pencils mainly polychromos, prisma and luminance, then I created the background by masking off the image and using distress inks.

I then embellished the card with buttons.

For the insert I added the image to the left page and added a verse which I thought was fitting to the right using papers that were used on the front to tie it all together

Hope you like it and I will see you very soon.

Two fat boys (DR Digi)

Hellllloooooooo happy Friday you crafty peeps I hope you’re all well.  Well it’s another week and another challenge here at Colour Crazy and we are so lucky to be sponsored by Dr Digi (all links at bottom of post) as soon as I knew we were sponsored by this great company I knew exactly what image I wanted to use. I’d seen this image a few times and it reminded me (in a jokey way) of one of my cousins (he’s gonna kill me hahaha) and it’s his birthday tomorrow

Anyway while I can still breathe, my card is A5b in size the papers are a freebie from somewhere but unfortunately  I  don’t have the details anymore I have distressed and inked with faded jeans DI.
I coloured the image with a mix of polychromo, Prisma, Lyra and Luminance pencils then masked off the image and created the background.

To embellish the card I added some hessian threads and a couple of buttons and then on with the insert.

For this I kept it simple just one of the papers from the front then a blank piece and added the uncoloured image and the happy birthday greeting.
So there you have my card I hope you like it and I will see you again very soon
